The goal of the Benevolent committee is to help the poor and needy by showing them the love of Christ. We do this by providing help for members of the Church and community with food, rent, utilities, medicine, and various other needs as our resources allow. Priority is given to helping members of the Church. (Members of the Benevolence committee are Don Palmer, Lyn Holland, R.L.Caddell, Bill Wood, Gene Young, Jack Shields, Steve Knight, Chris Hamilton, George Owen and Keith Sheets.)
The Finance Committee, staffed with five men, is charged with oversight of day to day financial matters for the Comanche Trail Family. The committee oversees budgeting, banking, bill payment, payroll, missionary support, insurance matters and financial recordkeeping for all committees.
World Bible School
The goal of the World Bible School program is to help people come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and be obedient to Him through the study of prepared lessons. These Bible lessons are sent throughout the world to those requesting them. These lessons are graded, and the students are then provided with the next lessons in the series. There are lessons available in English and Spanish. Lessons for children are also available. For more information, please go to www.worldbibleschool.net. Christ Prison Fellowship
This committee has oversight of the Christ Prison Fellowship, which serves both the Clements Unit and the Neal Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, as well as the Randall County Jail. Bible class teachers and mentors teach any who are interested. (Members of the Christ Prison Fellowship committee are Leonard Harper, Joe Frazier, and Steve Knight.)
Christian Home Care
The committee collects funds and specifically requested items for various approved Christian Childrens Homes and one elder care facility. The committee also cooridinates reports to the congregation by representatives of these homes. (Members of the Christian Home Care committee are Derrel Henderson, Jerry Klein, Johnny Badillo, Rex VanMeter.)
At Comanche Trail we strive to engage our congregation in sharing God’s love with the lost in our community and around the world. We provide regular support for missionaries in Bolivia, Brazil, Philippines and South Africa. In addition, we strive to help missionaries when needs arise and funds are available. (Members of the Missions Committee are Tom McDonald, Todd Bell, Victor Contreras, and Duane Willingham.)
The committee ensures the vehicles owned by the Church are maintained and ready for congregational use. Currently, there is a bus and a van, both used by various committees and groups for trips involving missions and fellowship.
Amarillo Bible Chair
This committee has oversight of the Amarillo Bible Chair at Amarillo College (AC). The Bible Chair Director, Jerry Klein, teaches accredited courses in Religion at AC, and sponsors the student organization Kappa Chi. (Members of the Amarillo Bible Chair committee are Jerry Klein, Vance Morrison, Joe Frazier, Todd Bell, and Robert Preston.)
Strengthening Men through eternal Godly relationships and fellowship.
This committee plans and organizes fellowship activities with the goal of providing opportunities for fellowship and evangelism for the members of the congregation that are 30 to 60 years old.
This committee plans and organizes fellowship activities with the goal of providing opportunities for fellowship, spiritual growth, and evangelism for the members of the congregation that are have children in elementary school or younger.
This committee plans and organizes fellowship activities with the goal of providing opportunities for fellowship and evangelism for the members of the congregation that are older than 60 years old.
This committee organizes visits, telephone calls, and cards to members of the congregation who are not able to attend worship services.
This committee plans and organizes fellowship activities with the goal of providing opportunities for fellowship and evangelism for all members of the congregation.
Children’s Emergency Home
This committee oversees the Children’s Emergency Home, ensuring the facilities are maintained and there are qualified/certified house parents, as necessary, to receive children from Child Protective Services.
This committee plans and organizes the Bible classes for Nursery, Preschool and Elemenatry ages.
High School Education
This committee plans and organizes the Bible classes for middle and high school ages.
This committee plans and organizes the Bible classes for adults. This committee’s members are the Elders.
This committee plans and organizes the worship activities of the congregation.
